Zimbabwe is making its debut in the global halal market by participating in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2023), aiming to expand its global market presence. Four Zimbabwean companies, supported by ZimTrade, showcase products like chilies, macadamia nuts, beans, peas, teas, coffees, and herbal items, including the popular beverage Mazoe.
Zimbabwe's ambassador to Malaysia emphasized that halal compliance involves producing safe and globally acceptable products, extending beyond food and beverages to pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and tourism sectors. MIHAS 2023, hosting 470 buyers and exhibitors from 40 countries across 13 major halal industry clusters, provides a diverse platform for Zimbabwe to promote its reliability and competitiveness in adhering to halal standards and strengthen its international trade presence.
